HANDLE WITH CARE
Fine jewellery should be handled with care and protected from strong impacts. Even durable gemstones can be damaged by a hard blow, while delicate settings may be affected by excessive pressure.
KEEP AWAY FROM CHEMICALS
Perfume, hairspray, lotions, cosmetics, household cleaners and chlorine can affect precious metals and certain gemstones. We recommend putting jewellery on after applying cosmetics and removing it before using household cleaning products or entering a chlorinated swimming pool.
CLEAN GENTLY
For many jewellery pieces, gentle cleaning with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft cloth can help remove everyday residue. Always take the specific gemstone into consideration, as some stones and treatments require different care.
AVOID ABRASIVE PRODUCTS
Abrasive household cleaners and other harsh cleaning methods can damage metals or delicate jewellery surfaces. Toothpaste and similar abrasive products should not be used as a substitute for proper jewellery cleaning.
BE CAUTIOUS WITH HEAT
Excessive heat and sudden changes in temperature can affect certain gemstones. Treated gemstones may also require additional care. For this reason, avoid exposing jewellery unnecessarily to intense heat or sudden temperature changes.
STORE SEPARATELY
When not being worn, jewellery should be kept in a suitable box or pouch and stored separately where possible. Individual storage helps reduce scratches, friction and contact between different pieces.
ULTRASONIC CLEANING
Ultrasonic cleaners are not suitable for every gemstone or every jewellery piece. Some treated, delicate or fracture-filled gemstones can be damaged by ultrasonic cleaning. When in doubt, professional cleaning is the safest option.
PROFESSIONAL CARE
If a gemstone appears loose, a setting has been damaged, or you are unsure how a particular piece should be cleaned, professional advice is recommended. Special attention may be required for treated gemstones or delicate settings.
A NOTE ON YOUR JEWELLERY
Every gemstone and jewellery piece can have different care requirements depending on its material, setting and possible treatments. When specific care instructions are available for a particular piece, those instructions should always take priority.
